Yeah, me neither.
…
Yeah, me neither.
I am disappointed too.
Maybe in another 1-3 months ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You mean years… It’s been 3 years already.
Got excited about “very special announcements” and it’s beyond disappointment.
I’ll be thankful if they said not to wait.
Apologies for still being quiet about Verse. SkookumScript was developed for about 11 years before it was released to the public. Verse has a huge team and will beat that - but it isn’t out yet.
As Tim has said publicly - we expect to have an early drop of Verse sometime this year…
Glad to see you @Noolarch!
Remember to invite us into NDA testing 1st if that is something that yall are thinking about!
Verse , Is it possible to code runtime scripts like SK?
[I thought that I replied to this…]
What do you mean by “runtime”?
Will the code run in the game and not the editor (like the Python Unreal plugin)?
Yes
Will you be able to make live changes while the game is running?
Yes [At least during development.]
Well, that is the first tidbit I have seen, thanks! Glad to know that Verse will have some interactivity.
Is the Verse have a fully self-contained IDE (like the SK) with no dependencies on external software, such as Microsoft visual studio or JetBrains?
How fast will verse be? Will it be as fast as lua?
Verse has been seen running in VSCode

Verse will most likely have a faster implementation than lua considering verse is statically typed (from what I have seen). Also, verse is being made with games in mind, so it will be optimized for that.
